Trent P. Wagner
Owner / Licensed Mortician
Trent and Kim Wagner are the sole owners of Wagner Funeral Home. Trent was born and raised in the Central City area to Tom and Nancy Wagner of Central City. He presently lives on a farm near Archer. Trent and Kim have two daughters together.
Trent has one older brother Sean who is married to Lisa (Roscoe). Trent’s grandparents are Heber "Gus" and Alma Wagner and Jerry Hammons, all of Central City. The Wagner family name has been in the area since 1906 when Trent’s great-grandfather, August J. Wagner came to the area on a covered wagon from Colorado. Trent grew up helping on the family farm which had been handed down from generation to generation.
In 1995, Trent became interested in Mortuary Science and after graduating from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1994 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, he pursued his passion by attending Kansas City School of Mortuary Science. His journey into becoming a family caregiver led him back to his hometown area.
Trent feels that being a local to the area all his life and with strong family roots here, he has an opportunity to serve families with the highest quality of care and compassion that they deserve.
Trent also relies on assistance from family members and area residents, such as Ray Huggett for services and Deb Hudson, who helps in the office.

Ray Huggett
Ray is retired. He was employed thirty-nine years at Central City Public Schools
and five years at Educational Service Unit Seven. Ray has been a continuous
Central City resident for 44 years. Ray's wife's name is Marge and they have 3
sons: Monte is an Air Traffic Controller in Kansas City, MO, Bill
is a Physician in San Francisco, CA, and Tom is also a Physician in Grand Rapids, MI.
Ray has said that the service philosophy of Wagner Funeral Home
reminds him of a quote by Albert Schweitzer "The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others."
Deb (Bankson) Hudson
Deb and her husband Scott are both Polk natives and have been farming for over 20 years. Deb has an extensive history of bookkeeping and record keeping skills that she brings to Wagner Funeral Home. She is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Polk, teaches the High School Sunday School class, belongs to the Ladies Aid, and enjoys a weekly bible study class. Deb and Scott have 3 sons; Anthony, Jace, and Josh.
