Dale William Lindburg
Dale
William Lindburg, 83, of Central City, formerly of Polk, died Thursday, January
19, 2012, at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Memorial services will be held
on Saturday, January 28, at 2:00 P. M. at First Baptist Church in Polk with
Reverend Roger Burke and Reverend Myron Stafford officiating. Private family
inurnment will be in the Laclede Cemetery near Polk. Visitation will be Friday,
January 27, from 5 to 7 P.M. at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City.
Dale was born on March 6, 1928 on the family farm north of Polk, Nebraska to Maurice G. and Elva (Hahn) Lindburg. He grew up in Polk and received his education there. Dale graduated from Polk High School in 1946.
He was united in marriage to Donna M. Gell on August 12, 1951 in Ong, Nebraska. The couple lived on the family homestead near Polk where Dale farmed. When the couple retired they moved to Central City. In 2011, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Dale was a member of the First Baptist Church, also served on the Polk School Board, the Farmers Co-op Board, was elected as Polk County Commissioner and Laclede Cemetery Board.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna Lindburg of Central City, NE, two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Dorla Lindburg of Polk, NE; and Scott and Cherri Lindburg of Stromsburg, NE; three daughters and sons-in-law, Peg and Roger Carico of Sioux Falls, SD; Jan and Tom Maneely of Leigh, NE; and Sarah and Eric Long of Leawood, KS, fourteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, Jacquline and Charles Todaro of Emmaus, PA, three sisters-in-law, Annette Lindburg of Stromsburg, NE; Gwen Lindburg of Polk, NE; and Kile Lindburg of Stromsburg, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Maurice Lindburg Jr., and James Lindburg.
