Margie C. Weller

Margie C. Weller, 79, of St. Paul, formerly of Palmer, died Friday, March 4, 2011 at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul. Funeral services will be Monday, March 7, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Archer Zion United Methodist Church near Archer.  Reverend Janet Burgel will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Archer Evangelical Community Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service on March 7 from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. 

Margie was born on September 20, 1931, in Phenix City, AL to Fletcher B. and Adell (Mann) Bartee.  She grew up in Smith Station, AL and received her education there. 

She was united in marriage to Norman Myers, and the couple had two sons.  They divorced in 1960.  Margie married Dawson Plott in 1968.  They later divorced.  Margie received her LPN license in 1968 and began her career of caring for others at the Columbus Medical Center in Columbus, GA.  On November 13, 1973, Margie married Merton B. Weller in Columbus, GA.  They then made their home on the farm near Palmer, NE.  She obtained her Nebraska license in 1974 and worked for Bethesda Care Center in Central City and Howard County Hospital in St. Paul until she resigned in 1984 due to Parkinson’s disease. 

Margie was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1962.  She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, needlepoint, reading, ceramics, gardening, cooking and baking. 

Survivors include her son, Terry Myers of Omaha, NE, a step-son, Rex (Gloria) Weller of Palmer, NE,  step-daughters, Georgia (Bill) Stettner of Grand Island, NE, and Shirley Boltz of Junction City, KS, one grandson – Justin Myers, twelve step-grandchildren, seventeen step-great-grandchildren, one step-great-great-granddaughter, one brother, Hugh (Inez) Bartee of Smith Station, AL, and lifetime friend, Elizabeth “Bug” Bingham of Forest Home, AL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband- Merton Weller who died in 2002, a brother, Jack Bartee, and her son, Larry Myers in 1997.
