Ronald E. Foulk

Ronald E. Foulk, 70, of Archer, Nebraska died Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Island.  Memorial services will be Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Archer Zion United Methodist Church near Archer with Pastor Janet Burgel officiating.   Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City.  Burial will be in the Prairie Creek Cemetery near Archer.  Military rites will be performed by Central City American Legion Lone Tree Post #6.

Ron was born on September 10, 1941 to Percival P. and Marjorie J. (Sinsel) Foulk in the family’s home near Archer.  He grew up in Archer and attended Archer School.  He graduated from Central City High School in 1959. 

He entered the United States Navy on January 5, 1960 and was honorably discharged on February 15, 1966. 

He was united in marriage to Helen L. Hayes on August 12, 1967 in Fort Collins, Colorado.  The couple lived in Marquette and Central City.  Ron did some farming and helped Myron Foulk farm and Dewitt Van Pelt with land leveling. 

Ron was a member of the Old Archer Church and the American Legion Lone Tree Post #6.  He played in the Foulk Family Band, and enjoyed pheasant hunting and shuffleboard. 

Survivors include his wife Helen Foulk of Archer, NE, three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Natalie Foulk of Archer, NE; Patrick and Michelle Foulk of Lexington, NE; and Leland and Lisa Foulk of Central City, NE, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild,  three brothers, Keith “Shorty” and Karen Foulk of Grand Island, NE; Phil and Joan Foulk of Central City, NE; and Burt Foulk of Monoghan, TX, four sisters, Alice and Ken Torpin of Grand Island, NE; Janet Cordsen of Cheyenne, WY; Sharon Butler of Pine Bluff, NE; and Maggie and Jim Holtorf of Plattsmouth, NE, and a sister-in-law, Sondra Foulk of Central City, NE; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Myron and Dennis, and three sisters, Shirley, Darlene, and Linda.
