Arnold  W. (Pete) von Aschwege

Arnold  W. (Pete) von Aschwege, 90, of Central City, formerly of Palmer, died Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital.   Private family funeral services will be held at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City.  Reverend Janet Burgel will be officiating.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer. 

Arnold was born on September 12, 1919 on the family farm in Palmer to Harman Christian and Meta K. (Hardekophf) von Aschwege.  He grew up in Palmer and received his education there, graduating from Palmer High School. 

He was united in marriage to Bonnie Lee Stouter on February 15, 1942.  The couple lived on the family farm in Palmer where he worked his entire life.  He also managed elevators in Archer and Paddock near Central City, until 1979. 

He was a former member of Palmer United Methodist Church where he enjoyed helping with the Youth Fellowship. 

Survivors include his wife Bonnie von Aschwege of Palmer, NE, two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Marny von Aschwege of Nahant, MA; and Tom and Cindy von Aschwege of Houston, TX, five grandchildren, Angela, Anne-Marie, Eric, Ahren and Anders, and one great-grandson, Noah.
