Stephen
W. “Steve” Smith, 52, of Central City, Nebraska, died Friday, January 08, 2010
at Saint Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Memorial services will be
Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City.
Pastor Scott Johnson and Pastor Steve Shanno will be officiating. Burial will be
in the Central City Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, January 11 from 5-7
p.m. at the funeral home. Steve was born on October 3, 1957 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Walker F. and Barbra L. (Siechert) Smith. He grew up in Grand Island and attended school there. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1975.
He was united in marriage to Julie M. Frauen on December 17, 1976 at the United Methodist Church. The couple lived in Grand Island for five years before moving to Central City. Steve was employed by Chief Industries. He enjoyed playing guitar and riding his motorcycle.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Smith, of Central City, NE, two sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Stacia Smith of Grand Island, NE; and Christopher and Silvina Smith of Central City, NE; one daughter, Jesi (Smith) Belleci of Central City, NE, eight grandchildren, father and mother-in-law, Richard and Janice Frauen of Grand Island, NE, three brothers, Mike Smith of Wood River, NE; William and Christina Smith of Central City, NE; and Tom and Lynn Smith of North Carolina, two sisters, Steph and Patrick Knobbe of West Point, NE; and Stacy and David Winter of Lincoln, NE, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walker and Barb Smith.
