Agnes J.
Moser, 88, of Central City, died Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Litzenberg Long
Term Care in Central City. Funeral services will be Monday, November 8, at
10:30 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Central City, with Reverend Kevin
McReynolds officiating. Burial will be in the Odell Cemetery at 3:30 P.M.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 7, from 5 to 7 P.M. at Wagner Funeral Home
in Central City.
Agnes was born on May 7, 1922, in rural Gage County, to John G. and Sena (Henricks) Rickers. She grew up in Gage County and received her education in a country school there.
She was united in marriage to Ernst W. Moser on June 30, 1946 in Hanover, Kansas. The couple lived in Kansas, and then later they engaged in farming in Gage and Jefferson County. In 1962, they moved to Wymore, Nebraska and Agnes was employed at the Nebraska State Home, in Beatrice. She held numerous jobs in North Platte, Valentine, Wayne, Norfolk and Stanton. She retired from the Stanton Nursing Home and moved to Central City. She soon became bored and volunteered at Litzenberg Long Term Care. She returned to work there as a restorative aide for ten years. She entered Litzenberg Long Term Care in 2004 due to failing health.
Agnes was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Central City, and she enjoyed gardening, cross-stitch, walking, and caring for others.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lavone K. and Jerome Solomon of Central City, NE, two grandchildren, Kristi Schenk of Central City, NE; and Laura Brandenburg of Grand Island, NE, four great-grandchildren, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Marilyn Rickers of Odell, NE, and Art and Ardith Rickers of Fairbury, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Ernst Moser.
