David
N. Kohl, 43, of Central City, Nebraska died Friday, June 11, 2010 at Litzenberg
Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Mass of Christian Burial will be
Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in
Central City. Monsignor Nelson Newman will officiate. Burial will be in the
Central City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 15, from 4 to 7 P.M.
with a 7:00 P.M. Vigil Service at the church. Wagner Funeral Home in Central
City is in charge of the arrangements.
Dave was born on June 6, 1967 at Paso Robles, California to Ken and Carolynn (Lovejoy) Kohl and Don and Sandy (Butler) Bragg. He grew up in California, and in 1979, when Dave was twelve years old, the family moved to Central City. He attended Central City Public Schools and graduated in 1985.
He was united in marriage to Michelle M. Pfeifer on April 29, 1995 at Lindsay Holy Family. The couple lived in Central City, and Dave worked at Atlantic Homes for ten years. In 2005, he started Kohl and Bosak Construction, where he was currently working at the time of his death.
Dave was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, National Bowhunters Association, River Rat Association, Sportsman’s Club, Valley View, and Homeowners Association of Central City. He was also on the Board of Directors for Cottonwood Estates and Junior wrestling program. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and taught hunter’s education classes in Central City. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his parents, his wife, Michelle Kohl, of Central City, NE, two sons, Colton Kohl and Dillon Kohl, both at home, two daughters, Allison Kohl, at home, and Lakin Kohl of Omaha, NE, two brothers, Scott and Maria Kohl of Central City, NE; and Clay and Lacey Bragg of San Miguel, CA, two sisters, Mechell and Matt Djernes of Central City, NE; and Sherryl Bragg Hernandez of Paso Robles, CA, a grandmother, Marcella Kohl Mowinkle, father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Joan Pfeifer of David City, NE, brother-in-law, Brian and Jen Pfeifer of Lincoln, NE, and sister-in-law, Melissa and Craig Pritchard of Kearney, NE, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather, LaVerne Kohl, and grandparents, Howard and Ila Kuhn Lovejoy.
