Lucille Hanson

Lucille Hanson, 90, of Fullerton, formerly of Central City, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at Boone County Health Center in Albion. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 27, at 10:30 A.M. at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Pastor Valjean Warman officiating. Visitation will be Monday, July 26, from 5 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery.

Lucille was born on December 24, 1919 to Nels and Esther (Gustafson) Johnson on a farm near Silver Creek, Nebraska. She graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1938. Later in life, Lucille had jobs selling Avon and house cleaning. She worked at the Black Cat Café and at the D & D Drive Inn in Central City. She then went to work in Chapman where she was a cook for eight years at the Ace Café.

Lucille married Leon Manning. She moved to Central City in 1983 when Leon died. In 1986, Lucille married Derrel Hanson. Mr. Hanson died in 1989.

Mrs. Hanson is survived by one daughter – Marjorie (Lawrence) Brandenburger of Silver Creek, NE; six grandchildren, Daniel and Michelle Brandenburger of Glenvil, NE; Robert Brandenburger of Centennial, CO; Kevin and Cheryl Brandenburger of Lincoln, NE; Timothy and Jane Brandenburger of Madison, NE; Michelle and Enis Price of Rockwell, IA; and Steven and Dorothy Brandenburger of Silver Creek, NE, fifteen great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, and four brothers – Harold, Leslie, Walter, and Vernon Johnson.
