Raymond
A. “Kelly” Wall, 91, of Lincoln, formerly of North Platte, died Tuesday,
January 27, 2009, at Bryan LGH Medical Center West in Lincoln, NE. Funeral
services will be Monday, February 2, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Peter’s
Lutheran Church in Hampton, NE with Reverend Fred Simon officiating. Burial
will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, from 12:30 P.M.
until service time with a luncheon being served at the church at 11:30 A.M.
for family and friends. Wagner Funeral Home in Central City is in charge of
the arrangements.
Raymond was born on July 4, 1917 in Hampton, Nebraska, to Christian and Katherine (Bamesberger) Wall, both Germans from Russia. He was baptized on August 12, 1917 and confirmed on May 18, 1930 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Hampton. Kelly graduated from Hampton Public School.
He was united in marriage to Donna N. Bagby on March 12, 1939 in Aurora, NE. Kelly managed a business in Hampton until the couple moved to North Platte, where he worked as an engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad for more than 40 years. Donna and Kelly moved to Lincoln in 2002.
Kelly was a longtime, dedicated member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Platte, where he served as an elder and in many other volunteer roles.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Jane Wall; and Milan and Sue Ellen Wall, all of Lincoln, NE, grandchildren and their spouses, Adam and Nicole Wall, of Ashland, NE; Stefan and Heidi Tussing Wall, of Helena, MT; and Megan Schreiner, of Lincoln, NE; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Wall, of Aurora, NE; one sister, Velma Sullivan, of Great Falls, VA, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 66 years, Donna (Bagby) Wall, and ten brothers and sisters.
