David
M. Chrisp, 81, of Central City, died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Litzenberg
Long Term Care. Private family graveside services will be held at the Central
City Cemetery with Reverend Janet Burgel officiating. There will be no
visitation. Wagner Funeral Home in Central City is in charge of arrangements.
David was born on February 22, 1928 in Central City, Nebraska to Frank Milton and Ruby Inez (McCollister) Chrisp. He grew up in the Central City area and graduated from Central City High School in 1946.
He was united in marriage to Arlene Mary Treon on October 29, 1950 in Grand Island at the Methodist Church. The couple lived in Central City for five years and David farmed with his father. Then they moved to Colorado where David worked at Merrill Engineering Labs for many years. He worked his way up in the company and became general manager there. In the mid 1990’s they moved back to Central City, and David was employed by Herk’s Welding for close to five years before he finally retired.
He was a member of the Optimist Club, and he enjoyed the Saddle Club in Grand Island. He belonged to the Aviation Club in Denver, and the Ports of Call Travel Club. His hobbies include woodworking and making furniture, gardening, and sharing produce with various clubs and assisted living facilities. He loved to read western novels, golf, travel and John Deere tractors.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife Arlene Chrisp of Central City, NE, one son, Michael David Chrisp of Englewood, CO, one daughter and son-in-law, Larine and Robert Williams of Little Rock, CA, three grandsons, Scott Williams, Corey and Evelyn Williams, and Michael and Jaime Williams, one great-grandson, Cody Brock Williams, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Alice and Earl Brandes, and Lola Ross all of Central City, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Ross.
