Ronald
A. Belitz, 76, of rural Central City died on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in
Central City, with the Rev. Kevin McReynolds officiating. Burial will be in the
Central City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Wagner Funeral Home in Central
City.
Mr. Belitz was born on June 5, 1932, on the family farm in rural Nance County to
August F. and Anna J. (Neemeyer) Belitz. Survivors of the immediate family
include his wife, Janet; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Darla Belitz
of Archer and Brian and Michelle Belitz of Aurora; a brother and sister-in-law,
Elmer and Lois Belitz of Fullerton; and a sister, Lillian Trosper of
Doniphan.Also surviving are five grandchildren, Christina and David Berney of
O'Neill, Robert Belitz of Aurora, Alyssa Belitz of Archer and Tanner Belitz of
Archer and Summer Paulsen of Central City; and numerous nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Mr. Belitz grew up in the Belgrade/Fullerton area and received his education in
rural Nance County grade schools. He graduated from Fullerton High School in
1949. He entered the United States Army on Oct. 16, 1953, serving during the
Korean War. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 14, 1955.
Ron was united in marriage to Janet L. Conger on Aug. 8, 1959, at the First
Christian Church in Aurora. The couple lived near Central City on their farm.
Ronald was engaged in farming his entire life, and in later years, his sons,
Brian and Steven, farmed with him. He loved farming, and he had a deep, special
love for his grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Central City, where he was
active in all aspects of church life. He was also an active member of the
Midland Township Board and a past member of the Archer Cooperative Credit Union
board of directors. Ron was an NC+ dealer for almost 50 years.
Ron had lived his life for family, faith and the farm. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He was a role model to his sons and led them by his examples of love, family, faith and hard work. He walked strong in his relationship with God and led others in testament and as a role model.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Kelsey Lynn Belitz;
and a nephew, Larry Trosper.
